Gaylord Texan Offers Junior Chefs Camp as part of Annual SummerFest Event |
GRAPEVINE, TX (April 30, 2008) - Back by popular demand, Gaylord Texan Resort’s Junior Chefs Camp for Kids will return this year as part of the resort’s annual SummerFest event, offering a variety of events and activities for visitors during the 2007 summer season.
Designed to introduce basic kitchen techniques and provide a hands-on opportunity to prepare popular and simple recipes, young aspiring culinary students will learn the secrets of the profession from Gaylord Texan’s Executive Chefs and Culinary teams. During each class, each Junior Chef will rotate throughout interactive kitchen stations learning techniques on table setting, serving styles and hands-on cooking specifics. At the program’s conclusion, parents will be invited back to dine in the resort’s Ama Lur restaurant for a three-course luncheon, hosted and served by their very own “Junior Chef.”

Class #1: IT’S GRILL FUN!

Learn basic grilling techniques and marinating tips along with grill safety!
Menu includes Rosemary Chicken, Grilled Summer Vegetable Kabobs, Garlic & Herb

We provide lessons in Wok-ery as well as exposure to some cool and unique
ingredients!

Class #3: TUTTI PAZZI – A MIX OF ITALIA

vocabulary of this historic cuisine!
Menu includes Antipasti Garden Salad, Chicken and Pasta Primavera, Toasty

Class #4 – SUPPER SIMPLE

Kids will learn to combine simple and tasty ingredients to make a delicious
gourmet dinner for the whole family!
Menu includes Bacon Wrapped Pork Loin, Wild Mushroom Polenta, Grilled Asparagus
with Caramelized Onions, and White Chocolate Cherry Brownies.
The cost for Junior Chefs Camp is $90 per child, per class, and includes lunch, a seated lunch for the parents, an apron, a hat, and a class photo. Junior Chefs who take all four classes will also receive a personalized photo album that captures their experience.
