Gaylord Texan Brings the
Outdoors in with Its Annual SummerFest Event |
GRAPEVINE, TX (April 21, 2008) - Gaylord Texan Resort’s annual SummerFest event, taking place May 23 – August 31, 2008, will feature weekends packed full of festive events and entertainment for adults and families to enjoy. Best of all, as the temperature rises outside, the resort’s enclosed atriums offer spectacular outdoor settings inside at a very comfortable 72 degrees.
As visitors stroll through the resort’s four-and-a-half acres of lush indoor gardens and winding waterways, hundreds of magical firefly lights decorating atrium paths will remind them of summers past. In addition, the resort will host Indoor Fireworks Shows; a Summer Concert Series at Glass Cactus Nightclub; Junior Chef’s Camp; Wine and Culinary Events; Poolside Dive-In Movies; and a variety of Strolling Entertainment, to name a few.
STROLLING ENTERTAINMENT

Entertainment will vary throughout the day and include Magicians, Face Painters,
Jugglers, Balloon Artists, The Gold Cowboy, Miki the Monkey, Caricaturists, The

JUNIOR CHEF’S CAMP
Location: Gaylord Texan’s Ama Lur restaurant
Date & Time: Saturdays (June 14, June 28, July 12, July 19,
August 2, August 16, August 30) from 9:00am - Noon
Ages: 8 – 16 years old
Cost: $90 per child, per class. Price includes lunch for two adults, as well as
an apron, chefs hat, and recipe cards for the Junior Chef. Each additional
child is $45 per class.
Designed to introduce basic kitchen techniques and provide a hands-on
opportunity to prepare popular and simple recipes, young aspiring culinary
students will learn the secrets of the profession from Gaylord Texan’s Executive
Chefs. Each Junior Chef will rotate throughout interactive kitchen stations
learning techniques on table setting, serving styles and hands-on cooking
specifics. At the program’s conclusion, parents will be invited back to dine in
Ama Lur for a three course luncheon, hosted and served by their very own “Junior
Chef.”

Featuring progressive culinary and beverage tastings from each of the Gaylord
Texan’s award-winning restaurants including Old Hickory Steakhouse, Ama Lur,
