NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 30, 2008) – Live music, cool drinks and one hot party in a great location and all for free. That’s what Gaylord Opryland Resort is bringing to Nashville this summer with its first-ever Poolapalooza Concert Series, which kicked off May 30, 2008. After a day in the sun or in the office, this is the perfect way to kick off your weekend in a fun and exciting way in pure Music City style.
Every Friday night, beginning today, May 30, through Aug. 29, the resort’s Cascades Pool will be the site for listening to live music, splashing in the outdoor pool and enjoying food and drinks prepared by the resort’s award-winning culinary team. Tonight’s show features live music with BMI Songwriter of the Year (2007) and 2008 Nashville Star judge Jeffrey Steele.

"Gaylord Opryland knows the people of Music City want to party, and there is no better way than with a pool, ice cold drinks and live music," said Kara Ryan, manager of special events and entertainment at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center. "Our Cascades pool area is the perfect spot for hosting a huge party, and kicking this summer concert series off with Jeffrey Steele is absolutely the best way to get summer started."

Each Poolapalooza party features special guest Billy Block and takes place at the outdoor pool area off the Cascades Lobby. Happy hour begins at 6 p.m., followed by live music at 7 p.m. FREE parking is available in select lots, and FREE shuttle service is available for anyone to and from the resort with the Wildhorse Saloon shuttle, which departs from the Wildhorse on historic Second Avenue, every 35 minutes past the hour. A cash bar will be available for cool drinks and the Cascades Cabana Grill. This event is open to everyone 21 and up.
