Mike Mason
Senior Vice President, Group Sales

As senior vice president of group sales for Gaylord Hotels, Mike Mason leads the company’s national sales office, provides direction to the sales leadership at each Gaylord property, and works with brand marketing to promote the hotel company to all of its customer segments. He manages the brand’s relationships with major industry trade associations as well as key clients. Mason also works to protect and enhance the close relationship between the brand and its customers. He is a firm believer in the STARS-first culture at Gaylord Hotels, which emphasizes service, innovation and employee dedication.

Mike Mason was one of the first STARS hired at Gaylord Palms, assuming the director of sales position in 1999. He was quickly promoted to vice president of sales and marketing in 2000. He and his team were instrumental in setting an industry record in pre-selling one million room nights preceding the opening of the resort in 2002. He was named senior vice president in 2007.

Prior to joining Gaylord Palms, Mike was the director of sales of the El Conquistador Resort and Country Club in Puerto Rico where he won the prestigious Director of Sales of the Year for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. He was the Sales Manager of the Year while with Marriott‘s Harbor Beach Resort in Ft. Lauderdale and opened the Orlando World Center Marriott. Mike has more than 22 years of experience in the hospitality industry.

Mike currently serves on the board of the Osceola Resort Area Council and the Osceola Marketing Committee. Additional trade industry memberships include MPI, ASAE and PCMA.
